| The Rev. Peter Muller was born at Leubsdorf, near Coblenz, on the 8th May 1859. He studied classics at Linz on the Rhine, and entered St Peter's Seminary, Partickhill, Glasgow, in August 1879. He was ordained priest in St Andrew's Cathedral on the 22 June 1884, and was appointed assistant priest at Johnstone until in 1890 he was given charge of St Patrick's, Shotts. Three years later he was sent to Burnbank where on Sunday,1October, a new church dedicated to St Cuthbert was opened. In1900 he was appointed to the important charge of St Augustine's, Langloan, where he remained until obliged to retire through ill-health twenty-nine years later. For the last two years he had lived in retirement at Largs, Ayrshire, and there he died on the1st May of this year (1931). He was buried from the church where he had spent the greater part of his priestly life, St Augustine's. His Grace the Archbishop presided at the Solemn Requiem, and after a panegyric preached by the Very Rev. James Canon Mullin, D.D., pronounced the Absolutions. Fr. Muller lies in Dalbeth Cemetery.
